LAKE NIANGUA– A Leawood, Kan., resident was taken to the hospital following a canoeing accident Friday evening. 
The accident occurred on Lake Niangua in Camden county around 4:45 p.m. when Claire Kelley, 16, capsized her canoe, pinning herself between a tree and the canoe. She was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
